The Vegelateria is a vegan restaurant, a small organic store, a take-away and a Gelateria in Zurich. For being such a great place to eat well, too little attention is paid to it. The restaurant part is called “The Sacred and Secret Way of Amazing Strength,” short “The Sacred”. There you find a buffet of different with love made vegan dishes before concluding with an ice cream of the Gelateria.
Here our dinner review of the Vegelateria and The Sacred in Zurich.

Quality
The Vegelateria offers a small and selected choice of various vegan dishes in their buffet. You can choose between raw and cooked dishes. Among the cooked dishes you can find known food, such as Züri Gschnätzlets with seitan.
I’ve tried all warm dishes and Lisa scooped up a plate full of fresh spinach, the Züri Gschnätzlets, sweet potatoes with beetroot, potatoes and roasted vegetables. Time and time again the Vegelateria surprises us with their deliciously prepared food. Even simple things like fried potatoes are wonderful. The only catch was that the food was more lukewarm than hot. Good taste made up for that. The ice cream of the Vegelateria are also very tasty. The drink menu includes a wide variety of exciting drinks.
The quality of the ingredients is noticeable and a flavorful experience. Among other things, Soyana products are used whose employees exercise daily meditation to produce the food with a good conscience. «Cooked with love» is not just a slogan here. We give the Vegelateria/The Sacred five out of five stars in the category quality.
Service
«It’s great that you’re here». We were welcomed by the waiter with this sentence and really felt how honest it was. Also when making our reservation, we were treated very nicely. Although we were in a buffet restaurant, we were accompanied through the evening by the staff. We felt lifted, but not threatened. This truly is an environment in which one likes to eat.
Ambience
The restaurant is in the middle of Zurich, in a good location between Stauffacher and Helvetia-Platz. The Interior of the restaurant unfortunately reminded us a bit of a canteen, as the light was rather bright and the tables are very close to each other. The dominant color is white and there is little decoration, which could make the ambience somewhat more pleasant. We were there on a cool autumn evening, which is why we weren’t able to sit outside. I can well imagine that it is very comfortable in the summer. Every two months there is a new art exhibition on the walls. On the night of our visit, we looked at exciting images, which reveal close-up pictures of food, showing the differences in quality between organic and conventional food.
Price
The sacred is a rather inexpensive buffet restaurant. I don’t have to think about putting much on a large plate. The ice cream and drink prices also play in the midfield. Generally, the exceptional quality of the food and its preparation justify the price by far.
Rich Buffet.
Whole rice, potatoes, fresh spinach, Züri Gschnätzlets, sweet potatoes with beetroot, grilled vegetables and more.
Vegan ice cream of the Vegelateria.
Hot ginger-orange shot.
Organic shop.
This wasn’t our first and is guaranteed not to be our last visit to the Vegelateria/The Sacred. I look forward to the next time!
